Facts about Fitness

If you are looking for a place to find the facts about popular topics regarding fitness, this is the site for you. Making choices about your health is a big deal so finding evidence-based facts is vital. Evidence-based research is important because it removes biases and propaganda and leaves you with the facts. You can use this site to easily sort through information and make decisions about your health based on evidence from credible resources. I have included a page with information on how to look for credible, accurate and up to date fitness and health information.

In a digital world, information is at our fingertips which can be helpful, overwhelming and confusing. The purpose of this site is to provide you with evidence based information on popular topics in exercise, nutrition and overall wellness and health as well as a guide on how to conduct evidence-based research on your own. As a fitness professional for over 20 years, I have watched diets, exercise trends and health information come and go. There is always a “get fit quick” trend that becomes popular then fizzles out. The idea of having to work less to get results is appealing but is usually not backed with scientific “proof” of efficacy. Finding factual, unbiased information takes some vigilance so invest the little extra time, your health is worth it!
